Having started out by serving marinas across the Mediterranean and learning from the region's best practices, Metarina now collaborates with marina partners worldwide, ranging from small, local marinas to international Super Yacht marina groups. This growth reflects the industry's demand for advanced technology, as well as Metarina's ability to deliver effective solutions across a variety of scales and markets.

Background

Metarina originated from a recurring struggle on the high seas in the Mediterranean in 2019. At the time, the founders, as crew of a traditional 54m sailing yacht, found it to be extremely difficult to reliably interact with marinas. Since then, tech entrepreneur Henry Hooper, captain Nicola Kienzle, and senior software engineer Leon Entrup are on a mission to transform how marinas and boaters interact and transact with each other. Together they form the backbone to disrupt the marina world, a sector that is just starting to catch up with the digital transformation in hospitality and travel of the last decades. With their deep industry knowledge the team has understood and validated the key challenges of marinas not being able to plan their resources optimally. Metarina seeks to counter that challenge and to have a lasting and sustainable impact on the entire sector.
